This was based on the D8 platform which pins the Range Rover Evoque. Since this car is to be made cheaper than the Range Rover, Tata made some cost cutting one of which is producing the D8 platform for the Harrier using high strength steel instead of aluminium which also reduced the cost of processing the platform. The company sourced the engine form fiat which is the same one that powers the Jeep Compass which Tata calls as the Kryotec which is a 2 litre, 4-cylinder turbocharged diesel producing 140 PS at 3500 rpm and 350 Nm at 2500 rpm mated to a six-speed manual transmission. An automatic variant is also expected very soon.

The pricing of this car is also very much attractive starting at 12.69 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). This creates huge stress on not only to the cars of the same segment but also the cars positioned a segment lower.
Coming to the build quality, I don’t think Tata would compromise on that and cars like the Nexon proves it very well. The fit and finish is also very good.

Indian auto manufacturers are performing really well these days be it Mahindra winning the formula E in 2016, Tata Nexon securing a five-star rating in the Global NCAP. These companies are making the country really proud. Coming to tata, things seem to go well for them as the cars produced by them are really good starting from the Tiago to the brand-new harrier. Harrier is the most awaited launch in the industry and it is finally here. This car stole the hearts of many people at their first glance. Obviously, who dislikes a Range rover. Range rover did I say? Yes, I am right its been ten years since Tata acquired Jaguar Land Rover and this is the first time both the companies have joined their hands to produce a car hence the H5X AKA the Harrier was born. Since its debut in the 2018 auto expo, Delhi, this concept made everyone feel that this car is going to create an impact on the company.
